Men Fourth, Women Sixth in WHAC Championships


Lansing, Mich. — The Aquinas bowling programs took the lanes for the WHAC Conference Championship on Saturday (Feb. 17). To the unintroduced, the contest begins with 12 baker games and, after after those games have finished, the top four teams then enter bracket play seeded on their baker placings. The men finished second after baker play but ended up falling in team bracket play, claiming fourth. The women were unable to make it out of baker play with a sixth place finish. 

Here are the scores for the baker games played by the men: 195, 148, 200, 268, 194, 197, 222, 197, 168, 187, 203, 222, giving them a total of 2401. With this grand total the men were seeded second going into bracket play. The #2 Saints were seeded against #4 Crusaders of Madonna for the third-place match. In a twist of events the Crusaders managed to pull over the Saints with a 3-1 finish. Eliminating AQ from play and giving them an overall finish of fourth at the WHAC Conference Championship.

Here are the ladies scores for their baker games: 178, 132, 188, 153, 152, 180, 176, 173, 163, 183, 164, 224, giving the a final tally of 2066. The ladies competition would end there as the baker finish was not quite strong enough to get them to bracket play. The women finish the season with a sixth place finish in the WHAC Conference Championships.
