Bama State Bowling Takes Second at TNBA HBCU Championship


MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State women’s bowling team finished as the runner-up at the TNBA HBCU Championship on Sunday.
 
The Lady Hornets defeated fell to Morgan State 4 and 3 but rebounded to down Texas Southern 4 and 1 before dropping the championship match to Morgan State 4 and 3.

Savanna Razor and Payton Hartgrove finished atop the individual standings for the Lady Hornets. Razor totaled 1,076 pins for a 213.4 average followed by Hargrove with 1,024 pins and a 204.8 average.

Alahna DeGruy sits in 13th with 901 total pins and a 180.2 average. Alexzandria Stewart finished with 888 total pins for a 177.6 average to stand in 15th, and Emily Price is 27th, totaling 854 pins for a 170.8 average.

The Lady Hornets total 9152 pin falls and a 181 average followed by Morgan State with 8,778 total pins and a 175.6 average.

The Lady Hornets defeated Virginia Union (820-750), Livingstone (987-653), Morgan State (827-786), and Grambling State (964-780) but fell to Alabama A&M (877-820) on Friday.

Alabama State posted a 5-0 mark on Saturday that included wins over Alabama A&M (861-820), Jackson State (947-875), Southern (985-811)), Florida A&M (974-678), and Texas Southern (967-917).

 

Alabama State travels to Arlington Texas on March 24-26 for the 2024 SWAC Bowling Championships.
