NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Three Dores, Paige Peters, Victoria Varano and Haley Lindley, earned All-America honors from the National Tenpin Coaches Association Thursday. Peters was a first-team selection, Varano made the second team and Lindley was an honorable mention.
Peters, now a three-time All-American, is the program’s 18th first-team selection. A junior from Toms River, New Jersey, she bounced back from an injury plagued sophomore season to regain her freshman year form when she was the NTCA Rookie of the Year. She won the Warhawk Classic and was all-tournament in three other events, including Destination Orlando where she compiled the third highest tournament average in program history, 239.80. She also participated in a 300 Baker game at the Mid-Winter Invitational. This season, Peters was also named to the NTCA all-central region and All-Conference USA first teams.
Building on a freshman season where she was named honorable mention All-America, Varano returned to the lanes this season to record five top 15 individual finishes. At the Mid-Winter Invitational, the Stony Point, New York, product anchored the Dores during their 300 Baker game. Conference USA named her to their all-academic team and all-conference second team. She was also an all-region honorable mention.
In her first season with the Dores, Lindley made the all-tournament team at Destination Orlando and was a top 20 individual finisher at four events. A native of Greenwood, South Carolina, she was named to the NTCA All-Rookie first team. Lindley contributed to the third and fourth best five-game Baker sets in program history at the Hawk Classic and the traditional game that tied ninth all-time at Vandy at Destination Orlando.
