NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt bowling’s Jennifer Loredo was named a winner of a $10,000 postgraduate scholarship by the NCAA.
The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.
Loredo, a law, history and society major, was named the school’s SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award nominee in April. She has also made the Dean’s List all eight semesters. While bowling at Vandy, she earned a spot on both the Southland Bowling League and SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll three times and was named a first-team Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports-Scholar in 2023. To end her junior season, Loredo helped the Commodores win their third national championship and was recognized as the 2023 NCAA Bowling Championship’s Most Outstanding Bowler.
During the summer of 2023, she interned with the Vanderbilt Office of the General Counsel where she taught attorneys about social media and how it applies in legal cases. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Loredo aspires to attend law school and work in immigration law.
The one-time non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.
All former student-athletes who earned an undergraduate degree from an NCAA member school are eligible to be nominated by that school for an NCAA graduate degree scholarship, regardless of when they received their undergraduate degree.
