Bears Women's Bowling Team Earned 10th Highest GPA in the Nation Announced By NTCA


BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College of Montclair State University Bowling team earned the 10th highest GPA in the country as announced by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) organization on June 11th. The ranking represents the highest All-Academic honor the team has achieved in program history. In addition, four out-of-the five women on the squad were named, 2023-24 NTCA All-Academic scholar athletes.
 
The NTCA recognizes NCAA bowling teams that excel academically each year. To garner recognition, programs must finish the academic year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher and be a current member of the NTCA. Out of 61 qualifying programs this year, the Bears 10th place ranking put them tops in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schools.

The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) takes great pride in commending student-athletes who have exhibited outstanding academic excellence throughout the academic year. In this season’s celebration, they recognized 364 distinguished scholar-athletes from 75 NCAA Bowling programs.

For Bloomfield, Alexa McManus, Alyssa Jones, Illianna Boyce and Lauren Hayes were all distinguished by the NTCA.
