WICHITA, Kan. | The Alabama A&M University women’s bowling program was among the top programs in the country in the highest team GPA honor among National Tenpin Coaches Associated (NTCA)-affiliated NCAA Bowling programs, boasting a 3.467 GPA for the 2023-2024 academic term.
Every academic year, the NTCA commends NCAA bowling teams for their academic prowess. To be eligible, programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher and remain active members of the NTCA. This season, sixty-one (61) bowling programs met the distinguished standard.
Four Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) women’s bowling programs were among the 61 that had received academic honors.
Jackson State clinched the highest team GPA award with a cumulative GPA of 3.777. Alabama A&M (3.467), Prairie View A&M (3.424) and Texas Southern (3.282) were also among the 61 that were named NTCA All-Academic Scholar Teams.
