NE10 Recognizes Spring 2024 Honor Roll; Four Programs Earn Team Academic Excellence

Mansfield, Mass. – With all programs earning over a 3.0 in the spring semester, a total of 316 student athletes from Adelphi University were named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic Honor Roll, announced Monday afternoon.

“It’s amazing to continue to see our athletes perform not only on the fields of play, but also in the classroom,” said Adelphi Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Danny McCabe. “Arguably one of the best years in my tenure, our students pride themselves on excelling academically. It is a testament to the culture our coaches and staff have put together and the support we receive from faculty and executive leadership.”

In total, 84 percent of teams in the NE10 were above a 3.0 with 51 teams posting a 3.50 or better. Of those 51 teams, eight Panther programs fell into that category as the department posted just under that mark at 3.417. With the third-highest percentage of athletes on the list, Adelphi saw 206 Cats with at least a 3.5 grade-point average in the spring — and 42 of them obtaining a perfect 4.0 to fall under the NE10’s designation of Academic Excellence.

National Champion men’s lacrosse had four players with a perfect 4.0 in the spring semester as volleyball and men’s soccer each accounted for five student-athletes with a perfect mark.

The Panthers have virtually met or exceeded the eighty-percent threshold throughout their impressive tenure in the NE10.

Additionally, four teams earned the coveted Team Academic Excellence award for the highest cumulative team grade point average from the 2023-24 school year. A pair of the honorees earned NE10 titles in their respective seasons with volleyball earning a trip to the finals and hosting duties for the East Region.
