A-State Off to a 4-1 Start at Destination Tournament


ORLANDO, Fla. (10/18/2024) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team is off to a 4-1 start at the Destination Tournament hosted by Sacred Heart.

A-State (14-4) opened the event with a 1,116-883 pin advantage against Wright State, but suffered a 983-944 setback against No. 13 Tulane in the second match. The Red Wolves faced No. 4 Vanderbilt in their third match of the day and A-State edged the Commodores 1,075-1,044. Seventh-ranked Louisiana Tech was the fourth matchup of the day and the Red Wolves came away with a 985-917 tally before closing out the day with a narrow 976-970 win over #18 Sacred Heart.

After five Baker matches, A-State ranks third in total pinfall with 5,096 pins. Jacksonville State led with 5,302 pins followed by Vanderbilt with 5,167. Youngstown State (5,094), Stephen F. Austin (5,077), Nebraska (4,958), Sacred Heart (4,930), Louisiana Tech (4,886), North Carolina A&T (4,862) and Mount St. Mary’s (4,793) round out the top 10.
