A-State Finishes Third at Destination Tournament


ORLANDO, Fla. (10/20/2024) – For the second consecutive tournament, the Arkansas State women’s bowling team finished inside the top four as the Red Wolves finished third at the Destination Tournament.

A-State (21-5) topped Daemen University 897-755 in the final Baker match to open the day and the Red Wolves were fourth in total pinfall entering bracket play. Meeting No. 1 Jacksonville State in the first bracket matchup, the Red Wolves grabbed a 3-2 advantage but fell 4-3. A-State took game one 182-174, but Jax State took games two (267-172) and three (234-226) to lead 2-1. A 236-175 and 215-198 tally in games four and five got A-State on the brink, but Jax State closed out the win with a 246-184 and 230-212 total in game six and seven, respectively.

Meeting No. 4 Vanderbilt in the third-place matchup, A-State lost game one 225-172 but responded with four consecutive wins to finish third. A-State took game two 215-172 and followed with a 238-220 margin in game three. The Red Wolves grabbed a 3-1 lead with a 255-151 edge in game four and closed out the match with a 10-pin advantage of 236-226 in game five.

A-State returns to action Nov. 1-3 at the Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State in Houston, Texas.
