KENOSHA, Wis. (11/10/24) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team closed out the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule with ninth place finish among 17 teams at the Ladyjack Classic.
A-State (38-14) lost its first two matches of bracket play but closed out a win in the finale to finish the event 8-5. The Red Wolves held a 2-1 lead against No. 11 Stephen F. Austin, but losses by a combined 16 pins in games four (208-198) and five (219-213) helped SFA close out the win in game six, 214-166. The Red Wolves faced No. 7 Louisiana Tech in the next bracket match and fell behind 2-0 early and 3-1 before falling 4-2 with three-pin difference, 183-180, in game six.
Playing for ninth place, A-State met No. 22 Wisconsin-Whitewater and battled back from a 2-1 deficit to win 4-2. After the series was even at 1-1, Wisconsin-Whitewater took game three by a single pin, 257-256, but the Red Wolves took game four 236-223 to get back to even. A-State closed out the win with a 239-213 advantage in game five and a 204-174 margin in game six.
