Madelyn Lathrop named Second Team All-CCIW

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Madelyn Lathrop of Augustana women’s bowling has been named to the All-CCIW Second Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.

It is the second straight season Augustana has been represented on the CCIW’s All-Conference teams, as Lathrop joins Alexis Munch from a year ago on Second Team. The 2020-21 season was the first year the all-conference selections were introduced in the CCIW.

Lathrop helped lead the Vikings to a fifth-place standing in conference this season as the team posted an over .500 record throughout the two tournaments. In the most recent CCIW traditional tournament, she finished third overall after averaging 182.7 and closing 76 percent of her frames. She had a high score of 206 throughout the two-day event. Prior to the CCIW traditional outing, the team competed at the Lewis Flyer Classic, where she was the only other member to compete in all games Sunday and the only to compete in every game throughout the entire weekend. Her performance was highlighted by a clean 244, her sixth clean game of the year, which is now a record for most clean games in a single season.

On a conference level, the freshman placed in the top ten in conference in individual scoring average and frame fill percentage. She ranked number one amongst all bowlers in frame fill percentage in traditional format with a percentage of 82.9 percent. Lathrop was also fifth in 10th-frame scoring and top three in spare conversion.
