Women’s bowling achieves multiple career highs at Leatherneck Classic

MOLINE, Ill. —The Augustana Vikings women’s bowling team competed in the Leatherneck Classic on Saturday and Sunday, finishing 24th of 33 teams.

The Vikings’ top individual placer was Samantha Olson, who finished 82nd of 270. Olson was the only person to bowl all five games Saturday and threw the team high of 203. This score was her first collegiate 200-plus game and her first collegiate clean game.

Audrey Bezella rolled her first career varsity game shooting 158 and 147. She also shot 80 percent in single-pin spares.

Augustana spread out the lane time between eight bowlers as everyone saw significant lane time to gain valuable experience on challenging oil patterns. The high Baker game was 178.

The Augustana Vikings women’s bowling team will travel to Waukesha, Wis. on Saturday, November 18 for its first CCIW tournament.
