Grand Rapids, Mich. – The AQ men’s bowling team along with head coach, Harold Klukowski, are thrilled to announce their latest addition to the program, Dylan Vermilyea. Vermilyea, a resident of Cadillac, Michigan, graduated from Cadillac High School back in the spring. He will be traveling with the men’s bowling team this weekend to compete in the Rochester University Warrior Classic.
Vermilyea was an extremely accomplished bowler for Cadillac. He was part of the all-conference team all four years at Cadillac. He was also a three-time state qualifier, two-time all-state, a two-time conference singles champion, and held a two-time conference high average. As a team, Cadillac won its conference championship three times while Vermilyea was on the team. The Vikings also qualified for states twice, won regionals twice, and finished as runners-up at states.
Coach Klukowski is thrilled to have someone of Vermilyea’s caliber joining the program. This is what he had to say: “I am excited to add Dylan as my first signee. Dylan is not just a high-quality bowler who can make immediate contributions to the team. He is also a very high character young man! Welcome to the family Dylan.”
When asked about his decision to become an Aquinas Saint, this is what Verlimyea had to say: “I chose Aquinas because it is closer to home and I will be able to surround myself with people that I have known for a long time. I can’t wait to bowl one more year with my cousin Brandon before he graduates. I am also excited to bowl these next 4 years under Coach Harold and hopefully we will be able to make a run at nationals!”
