Women's Bowling Prevails Twice at Lady Techsters Classic

Dallas, Texas – In the heart of the Lone Star State, the Adelphi University women’s bowling team competed this past weekend at the Lady Techsters Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech University, at USA Bowl in Dallas.

The Panthers stood tall against another slew of nationally-ranked opponents, including a few Top 10 teams in Vanderbilt University (#3), Sam Houston State University (#8) and Louisiana Tech (#9).

Not only did Arthur O’Connor win his first two collegiate matches as head coach, Adelphi placed sixth in the field and led all non-Division I schools with a 10,927 total pinfall and a 156.1 average.

Adelphi played up to its competition and bowled its three best series of the weekend against Vanderbilt, Louisiana Tech and Tulane University — which sits at No. 17 in the latest NTCA Top 25 rankings.

Senior Kristen Derr finished among the Top 10 traditional bowlers with a 196.2 average, highlighted by the team’s high game of 249. Junior Blanca Fraticelli, who rolled two 200 games, trailed right behind in 14th.

The Panthers have this weekend off before taking to the New Jersey Open, hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University, from Feb. 24-26 at Hamilton Lanes in Hamilton Township, N.J.
