GASTONIA, N.C. — Belmont Abbey advanced to its first-ever Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship Saturday morning, posting a pair of wins in the double-elimination tournament. The top-seeded Crusaders defeated No. 4 Kentucky Wesleyan 4-1 and No. 2 Emmanuel 4-0 to remain undefeated.
The championship mega-match against the winner of the loser’s bracket final featuring those teams will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday. If The Abbey loses, a regular best-of-seven baker match will decide the title.
