NCAA Releases 2021-22 Graduate Success Rate Report

Alabama State student-athletes graduated at an 81 percent rate during that time, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics had multiple teams graduate 80 percent or more of their student-athletes during that same time period. The 81 percent rate included an 89 percent GSR for female-student athletes and 74 percent GSR male student-athletes.

The men’s and women’s tennis teams boast a 100 percent GSR followed by women’s softball at 96 percent, women’s soccer 93 percent, women’s basketball at 89 percent and baseball at 88 percent. women’s Volleyball and women’s cross county round out the list at 83 and 80 percent, respetively.

Three other programs achieved 80 percent GSR or higher – women’s basketball (89), Baseball (88), and women’s tennis (80) 6 percent or higher, while all others women’s sports had a 93 percent GSR.

The Graduation Success Rate data shows the percentage of student-athletes earning a degree within six years of entering college. The NCAA developed the Graduation Success Rate to account for student-athletes not tracked by the federal graduation rate, which includes transfers into Alabama State and student-athletes who transferred from Alabama State in good academic standing.
