Bowling Resumes 2023-24 Season in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nev. – As the second half of the collegiate bowling season got underway this week, the Adelphi University women’s bowling team traveled to Las Vegas to face some of the nation’s premier teams at the Stormin’ Blue & White Classic, hosted by Mount St. Mary’s University at South Point Bowling Plaza.

With seven NTCA Top 25 teams on the slate, Adelphi only managed three times to exceed an 800 series, in a 2-11 weekend for the ‘Cats.

The Panthers hung tough in their last traditional match with University of Nebraska, only falling by 41 pins in an 883-842 loss to the No. 7 ranked Cornhuskers.

Blanca Fraticelli and Tiffany Wong stood out as Adelphi’s leading bowlers in the traditional portion of the tournament, respectively averaging a 178.00 and a 169.00. Brianna Tringali followed with a 157.20 average.

Fraticelli also paced the ‘Cats in the Baker competition, where she threw a team-leading 27 strikes across the five matches and made 88.0 percent (22-of-25) of her single-pin spare attempts.

As the team has since landed back home from Las Vegas, the Panthers will compete next at the Northeast Classic (Jan. 19-21) at Bowlerama in New Castle, Del.
