JONESBORO, Ark. | The Alabama State University women’s bowling team went 3-2 with a pair of top 20 wins on day one of the Mid-Winter Classic hosted by Arkansas State University.
The Lady Hornets fell to No. 6 Nebraska 900-952 in the opening match but bounced back with a big win over No. 16 Newman University, 920-909.
Alabama State followed up with wins over No.24 Central Missouri, 964-83, and Grambling State University, 884-660.
The Lady Hornets closed the day out with a loss to No. 3 and host Arkansas State, 1118-879.
Alabama State is in 12th place ahead of No. 24 Central Missouri, No. 16 Newman, and No. 17 Oklahoma Christian heading day two on Saturday.
