Columbus, OH – Alma Women’s Bowling was on the road on Saturday taking part in the Buckeye Baker Classic. Alma finished 3rd of 7 participating teams, with a score of 6005.
The tournament was slated to be a two day event, but ended up being modified down. The original format was 24 Baker games on Saturday, with 12 Baker games and bracket play for the top 4 teams on Sunday. Due to a scheduling error, the tournament had to move venues, and resulted in a modified format of 36 Baker games in one day, with no bracket play. Despite all. the chacnges, the Scots fought their way to a 3rd place finish in a tough field that included Ohio State University.
Head Coach Kyle Woodcock was pleased with his team’s effort in the face of adversity, “We ended up in 3rd today. We struggled with our spare shooting today, but the girls worked really hard and never gave up. Our highest game was a 193 and it came in game 35. I was proud of the effort of this team today. We will work on our spares this week in preparation for next week.”
The Scots will be back in action at the Raider Classic in 7 days.
