LAS VEGAS — As the USBC Team USA Trials enters its last day of competition Saturday, several Vanderbilt bowlers have positioned themselves near the top of the leaderboard and therefore are in contention for berths on Junior Team USA.
Veteran team member Mabel Cummins emerged Friday in eighth place, a dramatic rise once again after her original 45th place Tuesday. On her heels is Victoria Varano in ninth with Caroline Thesier 14th and Jennifer Loredo, who shot up from 24th to 16th Friday.
Amelia Kiefer and Alyssa Ballard round out the six Vanderbilt competitors in this event in 50th and 55th place, respectively. There were 134 hopefuls in the field this week.
The top four finishers earn automatic team berths and there are two at-large selections. More information is on bowl.com.
