Bulldogs finish runner-up in the Virginia Union Invitational


RICHMOND, Va. | The Alabama A&M University bowling team competed in the Virginia Union Invitational at the Bowl America Southwest lanes over the weekend hosted by Virginia Union University.
 

Alabama A&M went 8-2 and finished in the runner-up position.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

-Alabama A&M overall went 4-1 in Baker matches, defeating Virginia State, Coppin State, Virginia Union and Howard.
-In traditional matches, the Bulldogs went 4-1, defeating Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State, Virginia State and Coppin State.

-Alabama A&M’s lone two losses over the weekend came at the hands of tournament winner Delaware State.
The Bulldogs’ top weekend scorer was Rose Ugbinada, who averaged 185.2, having a 926 total pinfall.  Nariya Jackson recorded an 838 pinfall in her five matches of action. Montaya Walton finished with an 825, and Nila Dulcio recorded an 809. Tamrya Long rounded out scoring with a 605.
 
 
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs return to the lanes Nov. 17-19 in Montgomery, Ala., at the Hornet Classic at the Bowlero, hosted by Alabama State University.
