AAMU Upsets #5 SFA at Mid-Winter Invitational

JONESBORO, Ark. | The Alabama A&M University women’s bowling team completed play on Sunday at the Mid-Winter Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State, at Hijinx.
 

Alabama A&M went 3-10 during the weekend and finished 16^th out of 18 teams. The Bulldogs biggest got victories over No. 5 Stephen F. Austin and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival Alabama State. In bracket play, AAMU defeated Central Missouri, 4-0, before falling to Alabama State and Central Missouri to finish 16^th.
 
Individually, Rose Ugbinada led the Bulldogs by placing 50^th, averaging a 922 total pinfall in five traditional matches. She had two matches of 200 or more, including rolling a 214. Nariya Jackson finished 51^st at 918 and rolled highs of 202 and 203. 
 
Nila Dulcio (62^nd) recorded an 848 total pinfall and Tamyra Long tallied an 803 pinfall. Megan Whorton played in three traditional matches and averaged a 147.6 pinfall and Alexis Orchard registered a 157.5 pinfall in two matches.

Alabama A&M will take a week off before returning to action March 1-3 in Atlanta, Ga. at the TNBA/HBCU Invitational at the Southern Lanes.
