Women’s bowling concludes two-day Viking Classic


BETTENDORF, Iowa  — The Augustana Vikings women’s bowling team completed the two-day Viking Classic over the weekend, finishing fifth of six teams. 

Madelyn Lathrop led the Vikings with a score of 222 and had a clean 204 game, also bowling in fifth and anchoring the 10th spot for Augie. Samantha Novak followed by bowling sixth and had a high of 199. 

Rose Klinger secured a high of 197, while Delaney Walsh rolled 188 in the seventh frame to cover spares.

In Baker format, Augie participated in 25 games totaling 4447 points and a 63-pin increase to set a new record. 

“We had five different 200-plus games again with a high of 226,” said coach Marty Resner. “We had two clean Baker games bringing our total to eight on the season, one shy of our season record.”
