Phoenix, AZ- Arizona Christian University Athletic Director Jeff Rutter has announced the addition of bowling for ACU Athletics.  The newest group of Firestorm starts competing in fall 2019.

Firestorm bowling will compete as part of the USBC Collegiate governing body under the NAIA division. Bowling at ACU will start a coed sport before branching off to men’s and women’s programs.  NAIA bowling is in the second year of invitational status.  Currently in the NAIA there are 50 schools that have women’s varsity bowling and 45 schools that have men’s varsity bowling.  The 2019 NAIA Invitational will be held in late March in Topeka, Kansas.

Dr. Peter Dryer, Associate Athletic Director, stated, “ACU Athletics is excited to offer bowling to prospective student-athletes as a Firestorm program.  Our desire is to meet the needs of the growing sport offerings both regionally and nationally.  As a sport in invitational status in the NAIA, we are looking forward to the continued growth of the sport and the opportunities afforded to our future Firestorm bowling student-athletes.”
