BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Blue Mountain Men’s Bowling competed over the weekend at the Mid-South Conference Championship, with Lucas Hartigan (SR/Tupelo, Miss.) coming in 29th individually and Drew Turberville (JR/Tupelo, Miss.) 38th out of 111 bowlers.

The tandem also led the doubles squad for Blue Mountain, with the men placing 16th out of 52 teams.

In the team bracket, the Toppers were the 11th seed, and would fall in the first round to 6th seed Midway, win the second round over No. 14 seed Lindsey-Wilson, and eliminated in the third round by No. 5 seed Thomas More.

BMC head coach Creighton Nelms commented, “The boys had one of the best seasons in school history.  We planned to make a deeper run in the championship, but luck didn’t fall our way.  We lost a heartbreaker in Game 7 in the third round to a very talented Thomas More team.  This was the hardest working team I have ever coached.  Senior Lucas Hartigan has been a major cornerstone for the past three years and will be hard to replace.  His leadership on and off the lanes is one of the major reasons this program is headed in the right direction.  We plan to keep improving next year with most of our bowlers returning.”

The tournament concluded the season for men’s bowling.
