Vanderbilt Bowling | Alyssa Ballard Named Bowler, Newcomer of the Month

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Southland Bowling League Bowler and Newcomer of the Month awards were announced by the league office Friday and Vanderbilt’s Alyssa Ballard won both Bowler and Newcomer of the Month for November.

Ballard won the individual title at the Ladyjack Classic in Kenosha, Wisconsin, fashioning games of 231-249-200-268-225 for a 234.6 average. She finished fifth at the Hawk Classic with games of 212-215-197-178-223 for a 205 average.

The Commodores were runners-up in both tournaments and Ballard was named to both all-tournament teams.

Ballard currently ranks seventh in the nation in traditional format scoring at 21.46 per frame, 11th in spare conversion percentage at 74.4 percent, 13th in frame fill percentage at 87.1 percent and 15th nationally in the Player Composite Performance Index (PCPI) at 90.74 percent.

Ballard and the Commodores are scheduled to return to action Jan. 8-10 at the Stormin’ Blue & White Vegas Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada.
