Alexa McManus Named To The CACC Women's Bowling All-Academic Team


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 18, 2024) — Nine student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Bowling All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The nine honorees combined to represent 10 CACC schools that compete in the sport. 

Three schools led the way with two honorees apiece including two-time champion Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College and Felician University.

Bloomfield’s honoree was Alexa McManus who earned a 3.59 GPA with a major of Biology.

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

♦ Two student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher including Caldwell’s Lauren Marks and CHC’s Eryn Moore. Marks was named the CACC Bowler of the Year and Moore was named the CACC Women’s Bowling Championship Top XVII Award Winner for the second-straight season for having the highest cumulative grade point average at the final’s site.

♦ Marks, Moore, Felician’s Ashley Ferrara and teammate Madelyn Weston were named to the bowling academic team for the second time in their respective careers.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

ABOUT THE CACC

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 12 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican (N.Y.) University, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
