Rankings

The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) recently updated its national poll and the Aquinas College men’s bowling squad was listed as the No. 16-ranked team in the country.

The men’s team has been impressive this season, finishing within the top four at all five tournaments they have competed at this year. The teams’ most recent performances this past weekend (Oct. 29-30) were two third-place finishes at the first two American Heartland Bowling Association tournaments of the year. Aquinas placed third of 20 teams in the first tournament and third of 18 teams in the second tournament.

The Saints also boast a third-place finish at the Rochester Warrior Fall Classic, a fourth-place finish at the first WHAC jamboree, and a second-place finish at the Cornerstone Classic.

Lawrence Tech sits at the top of the rankings with 3,030 points on the year. St. Ambrose (2,769 points), Calumet College of St. Joseph (2,721 points), McKendree (2,715 points), and Wisconsin-Whitewater (2,674 points) round out the top five schools on the poll. In comparison, Aquinas currently has 2,133 points this season.

The WHAC is well-represented on the USBC poll with Lawrence Tech in first place, Indiana Tech in 10th place, Aquinas in 16th place, and UNOH in 19th place.

The Saints are back in action tomorrow (Nov. 5) to compete in the second WHAC jamboree of the season. This event is being hosted by Madonna University at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan. The tournament will begin at 8:45 AM.
