Women's Bowling 2nd at American Heartland III Tournament

Columbus, OH – Alma College Women’s Bowling was in Ohio on Saturday to take part in the American Heartland III. The Scots finished 2nd out of 3 teams total.

This was the first time that the American Heartland held a tournament on Thanksgiving weekend. The original field was made up of 34 teams, but by the time that the first frame rolled around, that field narrowed to just 3 teams. Alma fell behind Wright State early, but got stronger with each game that they bowled. In the end, Alma finished 2nd with a team score of 6624.

Sarah Gadde was Alma’s top bowler with a 942 placing her 3rd overall. Close behind her was Hallie Weaver. She put up an 893 to secure 5th. Just 9 pins behind her in 9th was Cassie White. Faith Bell placed 20th with a 702, and Morgan Smith rounded out the top 5 scorers for Alma with a 615, placing her 23rd.

With their individual performances, Sarah Gadde, and Hallie Weaver were named to the all-tournament team.

Alma will next be in action at the American Heartland IV.
