Women's Bowling to Face Alabama State in Arlington Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Belmont Abbey has drawn Alabama State as its first-round opponent in the 2024 National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship, the NCAA announced today. The Crusaders are part of the regional being conducted at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.

The Abbey is the No. 5 seed and will face the fourth-seeded Hornets in a single-elimination Mega-Match at 9 a.m. (CT) on Thursday, April 4. With a win, it would advance to a double elimination bracket including No. 1 North Carolina A&T, No. 2 Sam Houston State and No. 3 Louisiana Tech. Mega-Matches consist of a best two-of-three format including a traditional team match, a five-game Baker total pinfall match and a best four-of-seven regular Baker match.

The Crusaders are making their first-ever appearance at the championship after capturing the Conference Carolinas automatic bid. They swept through that championship bracket as the No. 3 seed, defeating No. 1 Walsh in the final match.
